It’s true that XRX, Inc, (home of Knitter’s Magazine, XRX Books, and STITCHES Events) in partnership       with South West Trading Company, Skacel, Universal Yarn, Colinette Yarns, Mountain Colors Yarn, Regia, Cherry Tree Hill Yarns, and addi Turbo© by Skacel have cooked up something special for the knitting universe. And yes... it is a sock contest -- the likes of which have never been seen before.

We officially launched the contest at STITCHES West 2008 in Santa Clara, CA on February 21st.

We’ve posted the official rules and categories of the Think Outside The SOX contest on the Contest page.

  1. •The contest will start at STITCHES West 2008 and run until January 1st, 2009 January 31, 2009 (just before STITCHES West 2009).

  2. •XRX, Inc, and the other sponsors have contributed over $20,000 in prize money.

 

  1. •The Grand Prize for the Think Outside The SOX contest is $6000.

  2. •Qualified yarn shops as well as STITCHES exhibitors (in the US, Canada, and Europe) have been invited to participate as SOX HOT SPOTS to help you (the knitter) design, knit, and enter your socks in this contest.

  3. •And yes... the winning sock designers are going to win prize money and get the chance to be featured in Knitter’s Magazine as well as in an upcoming book from XRX Books.

  4. •The websites SOXHOTSPOTS.COM and
    ThinkOutsideTheSOX.com have been established to promote participating yarn stores and to act as your online resources.
